About the studio
A one-person studio with big-system experience.
Barrett Studio is run by Simon Barrett, a senior software engineer based in Dover, Kent. Over more than ten years Simon has built and run high-reliability systems for others — from the appointment platform behind NHS 111, now used by two major healthcare providers, to Companies House, Barclays and HMRC integrations running at 99.9% uptime.
The studio puts that experience to work for smaller businesses: the same care and the same engineering standards, at a scale and price that fits. We design, build and run our own products too, so we know what it takes to keep something live, fast and paying its way.
Off the clock it's family, swimming and cycling — and keeping up with the JavaScript ecosystem for the love of it.
